This Sunday we are doing the Abbey Home Farm's circular walk.
Well, okay - we're cheating. We've taken the car to the furthest point and are starting from there: so across the fields, by the side of the Dual Carriageway, then back through Ragged Hedge Wood:
It's a lovely day. But fields and pylons aren't that interesting:
From my Physicist: The wires between two pylons form a parabola. Intriguingly, even if you know all the variables, it is still not possible to predict exactly the parabola that will result.
From my Archaeologist: Despite extensive research, it cannot be established whether Neolithic builders used any form of standard measurement to lay out their stone circles.
Hum...I may not know much, at least I can recognise a cowslip!
