The old area of Cirencester, around Thomas Street and Coxwell Street is both wonderful and somehow a little scary. I always get a worried in Thomas Street where you go past the old "Woolgathers" warehouse and are suddenly confronted by the huge blank wall of the buildings on the edge of the Bathurst Estate. It is like being transported into some creepy Medieval-themed computer game. It is always seems a relief to emerge into the modern town, in the familiar territory of Olivia's bookshop and Jacks café.....
